About The Position
The Controller oversees the accounting, HR and IT operations of the company. This position will supervise the accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, preparation and analysis of financial statements and payroll processes. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, attentive, and efficient. He/she can complete work skillfully and independently. The Controller must be good at giving and receiving constructive feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum five (5) years of combined related accounting and leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting guidelines
- A record of improving financial results
Responsibilities
- Documentation – Maintain an accounting system of procedures and guidelines to follow. Implement controls to minimize risk. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Reporting – Oversee the production of required reports and ensure they meet accounting guidelines and principles. Collaborate with auditors and provide needed information as requested. Produce annual reporting, budgets, and forecasting.
- Financial performance review – Manage accounting budget and system, which has low risk due to controls set in place. Provide financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations as requested or required.
- Lead – Manage personnel in the accounting, human resources and information technology departments. Create and deliver annual performance evaluations for the respective teams and provide guidance/leadership as needed. Initiate employee discussions when discipline is required.
