Controllers must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess technical accounting knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). What You Will Do: Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements . Coordinating activities of external auditors . Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process . Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes . Evaluating accounting and internal control systems . Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed . Developing and monitoring business performance metrics. Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Training and retaining skilled accounting staff. Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for month end financials . Monitor compliance with debt covenants. Additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of Controller experience, while having issued audited financial statements.
  • A self-starter and a problem solver; approaches all situations with a “get it done” attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to work full- time, and in-person, at our Corporate Office in Vernon , CA.
  • Has a competent understanding of computers and financial systems.
  • Skilled in Google Suite and MS Office (especially Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Fusion ERP; experience in the grocery industry highly preferred.
