Controller Summary : The Controller must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The role usually requires at least five years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Candidates who also have professional accreditations such as certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA) or chartered global management accountant (CGMA) are preferred. Previous experience in manufacturing accounting is also needed. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Familiar with GAAP procedures Reconcile bank balances & outstanding checks, monitor bank account daily Prepare & finalize vendors’ payment weekly, tracking due dates & vendors requiring payments Complete ACH payments & wire transfers to vendors & intercompany accounts Provide monthly key metrics to plant directors to monitor processes, including labor costs, revenue, cost of goods sold, materials, & budget Provide daily and weekly cashflow updates to finance director including budgeting needs for future Provide vendors with documentation to complete to add new vendors in system for adding/updating vendors including adding bank information to system & setting up bank templets for electronic payments Complete end of month, quarterly & yearly Journal Entries to capture accruals and true up accounts Create necessary journal entries to correct/reconcile accounts as needed Assist tracking and maintaining inventory counts and update WIP in system Set procedures and controls with documentation to ensure they’re followed for checks and balances Process AP as needed & support accounting team Financial Analysis: Preparing and analyzing various financial and operational forecasts and reports to include cash flow forecasts, margin analysis, and other financial forecasts Investigating and analyzing operational and financial variances from projections, budgets, or forecasts Ability to forecast and project ebbs and flows and report issues in future cash flow Assessing weekly and monthly operational and financial performance and identifying areas of improvement Assisting COO in developing forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans Other duties as required and assigned General Work Requirements Maintaining an organized and clean workstation Adhering to safety procedures and wearing personal protection equipment (PPE) as required by job assignment Exhibits professional attitude toward associates, customers, suppliers, and others Willingness to contact vendors when issues arise to resolve in a timely manner Demonstrates effective verbal & written communication throughout the organization Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities : May have 1 AP Specialist reporting to them.
