The function of the Controller is to be responsible for all Financial, Accounting, Insurance, and Payroll functions. The responsibilities include financial reporting, payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable, cost reporting, administration of company health insurance and 401K, and other accounting functions. Other responsibilities include the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial controls and guidelines. Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action. Key Responsibilities Identify trends and provide insight and advice to the President and leadership team. Development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and reporting of actual performance to goal is a critical responsibility. Develops EVM annual budgets and ensuring that expenses are in line with projected revenue. Reporting variances and trends as they fall outside of an established parameter. Responsible for ensuring that reports are accurate, appropriately approved and issued on time in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Controls and reports operating costs while ensuring company has adequate resources to always support superior quality service. Analyze the monthly financial statements, KPI reports, and other management reporting. Provide guidance and insight on significant variances. Provides guidance in contract negotiations for benefits and services, as needed. Manages accounts receivable, invoicing, accounts payable, payroll, and general compliance. Maintain open communications and foster a harmonious working relationship with the company’s CPA firm. Conduct and participate in regular management meetings. Responsible for monitoring and reporting on the company’s current financial condition. Ensure all client Invoicing, Accounts Payable and other accruals are accurately calculated. Ensure all Bank and Credit Card reconciliations are performed each month. Ensure proper controls, checks and balances are in place to protect financial assets. Ensure the chart of accounts is reflective of operations, project management, and obligations. Provides required records for tax preparation. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Informs the Leadership Team of any irregularities in operating cost. Evaluate direct reports per the evaluation schedule.
