About The Position

Controller Galen Medical Group offers several medical specialties throughout the Chattanooga region. We provide quality care and patient-friendly services to adults and children of all ages. We are seeking qualified, like minded Individuals to join our team! Summary/Objective: Full time position to handle financial management & analysis for a multi-specialty physician group. This role operates in our Corporate Office, and is not a remote position.

Requirements

Must have exceptional data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Must have exceptional skills in Microsoft office software (excel, word, outlook)
Proficient in using accounting and payroll software – Sage Intacct & Paylocity preferred
Knowledge of state and federal financial reporting laws and regulations
Knowledge of financial reporting and analysis
Ability to develop, maintain, and adhere to company policies and procedures
Must have strong time management & communication skills
Must have strong management and supervisory skills.
Ability to keep data, files, and all other company information confidential
Must possess strong organizational skills & attention to detail
High degree of integrity and honesty
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting required
CPA Required
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, cash management and payroll.
Performs all tasks associated with the general ledger; including but not limited to, entering monthly journal entries, executing monthly closing of general ledger, producing financial statements, and reconciling general ledger accounts
Oversee daily accounting activities and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of transactions.
Oversee payroll activities including preparation, accuracy, and timeliness. Ensure payroll is prepared in compliance with tax laws and regulations
Produce month-end financial reporting package
Produces the annual budget and forecasts
Actively support other members of the accounting staff – providing leadership, direction, accountability, and support as outlined by the CFO
Manage system of internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting rules and regulations and minimize risk
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
Works with external CPAs and provides needed information for the annual review & tax preparation.
Maintain asset recordkeeping & manage tax & internal depreciation
Perform other ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned by management
