About The Position

The Controller will provide strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of the organization’s financial accounting and reporting functions. Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business objectives. Drive continuous improvement in accounting operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or advanced degree strongly preferred).
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Public Accounting experience
  • Deep expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite or similar), and automated reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Required- 3 to 5 years in finance and accounting.

  • Experience in operations, manufacturing, or complex, multi-entity environments.
  • Prior experience in a senior leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Provide executive-level oversight of all finance and accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Billing, Fixed Assets, Tax (Sales and Use), General Ledger, Financial Reporting, and Treasury Management.
  • Deliver strategic financial insights through advanced analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger, including full ownership of balance sheet and P&L accuracy, reconciliation, and financial controls.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute departmental and organizational goals, aligning financial strategies with business priorities.
  • Design and optimize organizational structure, workforce planning, and talent development strategies within the finance function.
  • Lead external audit engagements, including coordination with auditors, resolution of findings, and implementation of process improvements.
  • Drive transformation initiatives, including process automation, system optimization (e.g., ERP systems such as NetSuite), and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide technical accounting leadership, including research, interpretation, and implementation of GAAP guidance; prepare formal accounting memos and policies.
  • Act as a mentor and leader to finance staff, fostering a high-performance culture through recruitment, coaching, and performance management.
  • Serve as a cross-functional partner, effectively communicating financial performance and risks to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Support and enhance financial systems functionality to improve reporting capabilities and data integrity.
  • Perform additional strategic or operational duties as assigned by executive leadership (e.g., CFO).
