About The Position

As our Controller, you will be the architect of Zellerfeld’s accounting infrastructure. You won't just be managing books; you will be building a world-class accounting team from the ground up to support our rapid global scaling. Your goal is to ensure the integrity of our financial data while creating the policies, internal controls, and ERP systems that will power the factory of tomorrow. You will provide the insightful analysis needed to drive effective decision-making as we disrupt the traditional footwear industry.

Requirements

  • Experience: 12+ years of relevant accounting experience, including prior public accounting (Big 4 experience is a plus).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification: CPA or equivalent is required.
  • Startup Mindset: Active and proven ability to build and manage teams and processes from the ground up in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and international operations (experience in manufacturing or technology is a plus).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with specialized accounting software; experience implementing ERPs and other accounting systems
  • AI Literacy: Proficiency in leveraging AI-integrated accounting software to enhance team productivity.
  • Automation Mindset: Experience transitioning manual outsourced and manual processes into automated, scalable workflows.
  • Leadership: Excellent supervisory skills with a "hands-on" mentality and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Big 4 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build & Lead: Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing accounting team to handle all aspects of the accounting process including revenue recognition, payroll, and global reporting.
  • System Implementation: Lead the implementation of a broad set of accounting systems including a global ERP system to streamline manufacturing accounting and international financial operations.
  • Policy Creation: Establish and document internal accounting procedures, financial policies, and treasury controls for a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, providing value-added reporting to corporate management and the Board of Directors.
  • Manufacturing & Inventory: Oversee accounting for our 3D-printing production facilities, focusing on fixed assets, specialized manufacturing costs, and supply chain integrity.
  • Global Compliance: Navigate international accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and manage tax-related matters across different business segments.
  • Audit & Controls: Drive interactions with external auditors and tax consultants across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Treasury & Cash: Optimize treasury activities, including cash flow management, account funding, and relationships with financial institutions.
