About The Position

Privately Held Company | St. Louis, MO Only candidates local to the St. Louis area will be considered. Position Overview: This role leads and oversees the company’s accounting and financial operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting
• Technical accounting expertise and strong analytical skills
• High attention to detail and organizational ability
• Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Strong leadership and team development skills

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Oversee account reconciliations and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
• Provide financial analysis and actionable insights to support business decisions
• Improve cash flow management and operational performance
• Optimize ERP systems and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
