CardFlight
38d$135,000 - $165,000Remote

About The Position

Whether they’re building great payment software or collaborating with a client, every CardFlight employee is committed to empowering small businesses to accept electronic payments with ease. Our team works primarily remote in over 25 US states with the ability to work in any US state and is passionate about delivering intuitive, reliable software that helps small businesses get paid. Joining CardFlight means being part of a fast-moving company, collaborating closely with talented teammates, and having a direct impact on simplifying payments for small businesses nationwide. We’re currently looking for a Controller to take a key role on our United States location-neutral Finance team. This is a high-impact position for someone who wants to own, modernize, and scale the accounting function at a growing SaaS + payments company, while partnering closely with FP&A and our VP of Finance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to maintain, automate, and continuously improve CardFlight’s accounting operations. Our finance function supports complex payments software (SaaS) and payment facilitation (PayFac) business lines, requiring strong ownership of month-end close, reconciliations, revenue and expense integrity, and financial reporting. We are intentionally investing in AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, and modern accounting workflows to reduce manual effort and scale efficiently. The Controller will operate as a lean, one-person accounting team, supported by mature SOPs, comprehensive documentation, and a growing automation stack. You will work closely with the VP of Finance to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and strong alignment between accounting actuals and forecasts. As the business grows, you will help evaluate when and where additional support (e.g., junior staff or contractors) is warranted. In this role, we especially value: Ownership mindset — comfort taking full responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks Automation and systems curiosity — eagerness to replace manual processes with scalable tools Sound judgment and adaptability — ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing, high-growth environment The position is U.S. location-neutral and fully remote, with opportunities to gather in person as a company and as a Finance team throughout the year.
