About The Position

The Controller position is accountable for the Accounting and Finance operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. The Controller is also responsible for cash management and risk management and analysis designed to identify opportunities to improve business results. The Controller is the primary financial business partner to the General Manager.

  • 5+ years of experience with business intelligence tools like SAP, Power Bi, QlikView, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, including work with accounting software.
  • 10+ years of financial reporting including P&L, cash flow, balance sheet statements.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Finance Department operations, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions.
  • Supervise and support the Finance Team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high ethical standards
  • Oversee preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
  • Prepare financial forecasts, business activity reports, and operational performance analysis
  • Monitor financial performance, cash flow, reserve levels, financial trends and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
  • Provide monthly / annual business analysis to General Manager that identifies gaps and opportunities that impact financial performance
  • Coordinate and direct budgeting, financial planning and forecasting processes.
  • Review financial reports and identify efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities
  • Recommend financial performance benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s objectives
  • Develop, implement and enforce internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities
  • Ensure adherence with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Manage & Enforce GAAP Compliance
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Manage Operational Cash Flow, Bank Reconciliation. Vendor disbursements, and customer collections.
  • Manage cash receipts, deposits and related records.
  • Evaluate and manage risk-mitigation processes and financial controls
  • Creates financial modeling and ROI analysis to support investment decisions in tools, technologies and infrastructure
  • Ensure proper authorization and control over disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage data integration of various sales reporting systems.
  • Provide operational reporting that includes top-line performance versus budget and early identification of revenue risks
  • Provide monthly analysis on sales, gross profit inventory and capital investments
  • Advise other departments on accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
  • Support short-term and long-term financial planning, policies, and actions.
  • Maintain knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, and current accounting standards.
