About The Position

NOW CFO is partnering with a growing, entrepreneurial organization in the automotive space to identify a hands-on Controller to join their leadership team. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity on our clients team. This is an onsite role supporting a multi-entity business with strong growth potential and high visibility across operations and leadership. Location: Onsite and In-Office in Torrance, CA Compensation: $135k-$150k Position Overview The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while helping build scalable processes and systems to support continued growth. This individual will work closely with executive leadership and play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, and operational integration. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented accounting leader who enjoys being in the weeds while also thinking strategically.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of controllership or senior accounting leadership experience
  • Experience with intercompany accounting and multi-entity structures
  • Strong background in building processes and improving efficiencies
  • Experience working with complex operations
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused
  • Proficiency with modern accounting systems (QuickBooks Online)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement accounting processes, procedures, and SOPs
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Manage multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
  • Support system and process integrations (CRM/ERP and related tools)
  • Partner with leadership on forecasting, cash flow, and financial visibility
  • Coordinate sales tax filings and audit support
  • Handle ad hoc financial projects and special initiatives
  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation
  • Support and mentor accounting staff
