About The Position

Come support a critical access hospital in need of a Controller. Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center is located along the scenic southern Oregon coast in the city of Bandon. We are a community-owned 21-bed critical access hospital providing emergency, general acute care, family practice, and specialty outpatient services. The Controller position is primarily responsible for coordinating audit requirements with State and Independent Auditors. The role requires excellent leadership skills with a philosophy of creating a high-trust culture that empowers employees and fosters a strong team environment. Strong customer service orientation and a track record of creating and maintaining positive working relationships with the senior leaders and management team. Some essential functions are, supervising all accounting functions, having knowledge of not-for-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting, Management, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, and educating accounting and organizational staff regarding regulatory changes. The Controller reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This position is an onsite position, with the potential to become a hybrid position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Three to five years of Sr. accounting or higher experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills are required.
  • Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of all programs used by the organization. i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hospital accounting experience is strongly preferred.
