About The Position

The Controller plays a critical leadership role in safeguarding the financial integrity and operational stability of the organization. Reporting to the COO, this position oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and fiscal discipline. The Controller provides timely financial insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making while maintaining strong governance and regulatory adherence.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • BS/BA degree required; Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CPA, CGMA, or prior public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable business insight
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, accountability, and sound financial judgment

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies while maintaining effective internal controls
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis to support business planning and operational performance
  • Monitor revenue recognition practices, distribution/vendor programs, and working capital to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency
  • Identify and investigate financial anomalies, inefficiencies, and risks, providing actionable recommendations to leadership
  • Manage audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies
  • Support operational strategies through financial insight, performance metrics, and business modeling
  • Mentor and supervise accounting staff, fostering professional development and operational excellence
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and reporting efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned
