About The Position
Our client, a successful and growing law firm in WNY, is looking to hire a Controller to join their team. This is a newly created role open due to growth that reports directly to the Director of Finance. Business casual environment with a team-focused culture (lunches, events, celebrations, etc.).
Requirements
- Proficient computer skills; Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, etc.)
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organization skills and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; Visa sponsorship is not available
Responsibilities
- Perform daily Accounting Operations responsibilities contributing to the overall financial success of the organization
- Oversee Accounts Payable/Receivable, Billing, and G/L activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness; act as a backup when necessary
- Participate in monthly/quarterly/annual close processes and ensure reporting is precise
- Regularly review transactions to ensure proper classifications
- Collaborate with internal and external team members on audits by preparing financial documents/reports
- Create and present financial presentations to upper leadership, providing clear and complete information
- Analyze current processes, reporting tools, technologies, and workflows to identify gaps/shortcomings and offer educated, actionable recommendations for improvement
- Complete special projects in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
