About The Position

ComplyAuto is a fast-growing RegTech SaaS company helping organizations strengthen compliance, security, and operational efficiency through cloud-based software. What started in automotive privacy compliance has expanded into cybersecurity, environmental, health & safety, and legal compliance-creating exciting opportunities to build, improve, and scale in a high-impact environment.
We're looking for a motivated Controller to partner closely with the CFO and lead the finance function with a strong focus on accuracy, process improvement, and business insight. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance leader who enjoys building efficient systems, improving reporting, and supporting a growing remote-first company.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 8+ years of experience leading accounting and finance teams
• Strong background in full-cycle accounting and monthly financial reporting
• Demonstrated expertise in GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
• Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
• Working knowledge of tax matters, including sales tax and income tax
• Proficiency in financial systems; NetSuite preferred
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines
• High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
• Strong remote collaboration skills and willingness to travel up to 5%

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle accounting, including monthly close, financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting commentary
• Establish and maintain a close process that delivers financial statements by the 8th business day of each month
• Ensure monthly documentation and reconciliation of all material balance sheet accounts
• Partner with the CFO to monitor business performance, evaluate metrics, and identify meaningful financial trends
• Improve accounting systems and processes to deliver better analytics and stronger decision support
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and support external audits
• Build clear, audit-ready procedures and strong internal controls
• Partner with external tax advisors on tax strategy, returns, and potential credits or savings opportunities
• Oversee timely sales tax filings, business registrations, and related compliance requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial strategy with operational and growth goals
• Identify opportunities to increase ROI from financial systems, including the use of AI to automate manual tasks and elevate analysis
