Role Summary As the Controller, you will be the cornerstone of our financial operations, overseeing all aspects of our accounting functions. Your key responsibilities will include managing billing, accounts receivable and payable, general ledger functions, and ensuring the accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports. You will supervise corporate accounting activities, including internal and external financial statements, annual audits, and budgets, while also ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will play a crucial role in coordinating the preparation of our operational budget, forecasting financial outcomes, and preparing monthly financial statements. Your expertise will support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring the quality control of financial transactions and reporting. Additionally, you will develop and document business processes and accounting policies, strengthening internal controls and managing financial risks. Your leadership will guide the disbursement department in processing accounts payable, payroll, and tax compliance, as well as the accounts receivable department in managing billings, cash receipts, and customer service. Your strategic oversight will be vital to our financial health, driving accurate financial reporting and compliance. LG Group is a full-service real estate development, construction, and design firm. Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a Financial controller
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Advanced degree in Accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills

  • CPA or CMA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets.
  • Oversee the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee the activities of the accounts receivable department to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc; funding service management, which includes weekly funding reports and customer service; quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the operations budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Financial risk management
  • Additional controller duties as necessary
