About The Position

A fast-growing, family-run technology integrator in the security space is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting operations. With revenues approaching $50M and growth plans to reach $75M+, the company is expanding its footprint across both residential and commercial markets. The business is 100% self-financed, carries zero debt, and is actively investing in new service lines and operational upgrades. The Controller will be responsible for all aspects of financial operations, including reporting, compliance, internal controls, and team leadership. This is a strategic role that partners closely with the CFO to support scalable growth, optimize systems, and ensure financial integrity across a dynamic and expanding organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a contractor, integrator, or similar $50M–$100M business.
• Proven success in leading accounting teams and implementing systems.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial process optimization.

Nice To Haves

• CPA strongly preferred
• Public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Manage external audits and coordinate annual tax reporting with external accountants.
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll (including certified/subcontractor payroll), and billing functions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with the CFO.
• Drive system implementations and process improvements to support scale.
• Supervise and mentor a team of five accounting professionals.
