What We’re Looking For: We’re searching for a high-energy, hands-on Controller who thrives in the fast-paced rhythm of manufacturing. This isn’t a desk job for the faint-hearted, you’ll dive deep into the numbers, partner closely with VP of Finance and Administration, drive real process improvements, and lead our finance and accounting team with a winning mindset. If you love mastering new systems, spot inefficiencies from a mile away, and can juggle priorities while keeping a diverse team motivated and growing, this role is built for you. You’ll own the financial heartbeat of our operations in a high-accountability, results-driven environment where speed, accuracy, and continuous improvement aren’t optional—they’re how we win.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3 years managing direct reports, with 4+ years in a manufacturing environment (similar controller experience ideal).
  • Deep technical expertise in manufacturing, inventory management, ERP systems (implementation/heavy usage a must), and financial reporting under GAAP.
  • Proven track record of rapidly learning new software, technologies, or processes; self-starter who digs for solutions independently.
  • Experience leveraging modern tools like AI/automation, advanced Excel, or data visualization (Power BI a plus) to streamline workflows and uncover insights faster.
  • Strong process improvement focus working across departments with examples of initiatives that reduced costs, sped up closes, enhanced accuracy, or strengthened controls.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills; thrives under pressure in fast-paced, interrupt-heavy manufacturing settings.
  • Leadership experience guiding diverse teams with varying capabilities; excellent communication to influence operations, engineering, and leadership.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and a genuine team-first attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close, financial reporting, and accurate preparation of balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, and key metrics in a timely, deadline-driven cycle.
  • Provide actionable, data-backed insights to leadership and cross-functional teams on costs, inventory, and profitability to fuel better decisions in our fast-moving production world.
  • Maximize our ERP system (heavy usage and optimization required; experience with Dynamics GP or similar a big plus) while quickly learning any new tools or upgrades to boost reporting and analysis speed.
  • Champion process improvements across finance and operations—identify bottlenecks, implement automation (including AI-driven tools for forecasting, anomaly detection, reconciliations, or analytics), and lead lean accounting initiatives that cut waste and drive bottom-line impact.
  • Manage budgeting, rolling forecasts, KPIs, and variance analysis; deliver clear, no-fluff recommendations to support rapid growth and operational agility.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, GAAP compliance, tax accuracy, and audit readiness; coordinate external audits and build bulletproof processes.
  • Lead and develop our small finance team with diverse skill levels and backgrounds—provide coaching, training, feedback, and motivation to help everyone level up while hitting aggressive timelines.
  • Independently research solutions, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes with minimal handholding in our high-velocity setting.
  • Juggle multiple high-stakes priorities (month/quarter-end, inventory cycles, capital projects, special analyses) without dropping the ball on quality or deadlines.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with annual reviews and a performance-based annual bonus.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Health, dental, & vision insurance coverage.
  • Company-paid life, short- & long-term disability insurance.
