The Controller reports to the Finance Director and oversees the City's accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and related financial operations. This position ensures the integrity of the City’s financial records, directs the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, and maintains the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and GASB requirements. The Controller supports development of the annual budget, leads complex financial analyses, manages internal controls, and may serve as Acting Finance Director as needed. The Controller plays a key role in treasury, cash, and debt management activities; coordinates the annual external audit; and oversees preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). The role also contributes to long-range financial planning, operational improvements, and organization-wide fiscal policy development.
