The Controller will be primarily responsible for financial recording and reporting of the organization's financial activities, establishing financial policies, some financial analysis, and internal and external reporting. This is a “hands on” role in which the Controller must be able to execute the duties described below as well as work well in a team environment. The position requires someone with strong accounting and financial analysis skills with 10 plus years of accounting, analysis, and budgeting. This position will be responsible for the monthly reporting package of the six business units, plus the consolidation of all six units. In addition, the position requires someone who is highly organized and has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. This is a full-time in-office position based in Hampshire, IL [with a requirement to periodically travel to operating locations]. Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions; including A/P, GL and month end close and consolidation process for 6 primary locations including preparation of consolidated financial reporting package. There are currently two ERP systems that are used in the closing. Accessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate and timely accounting of consolidated financials Plan, direct and coordinate accounting staff including accounting manager, senior staff accountant and three AP associates. Development and monitoring of key financial performance indicators Responsible for ensuring that the organization has sound financial controls and policies and procedures are in place to adequately safeguard company assets and accurately report results. Support organizational annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process working collaboratively with the Company's FP&A manager. Work with operations to ensure that we have sound inventory control, including receipt of inventory, physical inventory and costing of material Manage flow of information and provide oversight of annual financial and bank audits. Manage and monitor banking activity including distribution funding, AP payments, month-end reconciliations, and bank reporting requirements. Prepare and develop various ad hoc reports and cost analysis projects
