About The Position

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost. We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Controller, Pipeline located in Houston, TX. General Description: The Controller, Pipeline is responsible for the 24/7 safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the pipeline systems. This role involves continuously monitoring system pressures, flows, and operational data from receipt points to delivery points, adjusting flow rates and pressure set points, and responding to system alarms. Controllers work in a fast‑paced team environment that prioritizes safety, proactive troubleshooting, and minimizing customer impact. Strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and effective communication are essential for success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and at least 2 years of experience in a relevant industry or control room environment.
  • Demonstrated safe work and driving record.
  • Demonstrated ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts in a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work overtime, on‑call rotations, and respond to after‑hours callouts as required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong priority‑setting and decision‑making abilities.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and respond calmly under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical degree plus 2+ years of experience in pipeline operations, gas scheduling, or LNG plant control room environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or honorable military service.
  • 5+ years of as a pipeline controller in a transmission pipeline control room operating gas turbine compression.
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA systems and related control applications with the ability to perform point-to-point checks.
  • Proficiency with Mac and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate system pressures, flows, temperatures, and other operational data using SCADA.
  • Set and adjust flow rates and pressure set points at pipeline interconnections and delivery points.
  • Monitor computer systems, respond to alarms, and control interfaces to ensure safe system performance.
  • Remotely start and stop compressor units to maintain required flow and pressure.
  • Identify Abnormal Operations and Abnormal Operating Conditions(AO/AOC) and take immediate corrective action.
  • Coordinate gas movement with receipt point operators, field operations, plant personnel, and the commercial teams.
  • Support scheduled maintenance and respond to unplanned outages.
  • Manage pipeline imbalances and ensure gas meets tariff specifications.
  • Provide emergency response coordination and reporting.
  • Receive, screen, and route calls from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Achieve and maintain Pipeline Controller Operator Qualification status and participate in ongoing training.
  • Accurately document pipeline events and update stakeholders throughout the shift.
  • Communicate critical information to field operators and customers.
  • Assist with troubleshooting alongside maintenance teams and contractors.
  • Train others in operational tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
