About The Position

“Launch” is Rolls-Royce's new pathway for graduates stepping directly into permanent roles. The program is designed for ambitious graduates (Bachelors, Masters or PhD level) who are ready to make an impact from day one, supported with on the job learning and career progression opportunities. You’ll join an engaged, multi-disciplinary team of engineers who will help you understand the control systems landscape and gain exposure to its many dimensions. In this role, you’ll be based in the Electrical, Electronics, Software, Control System Design, and System Security (E24S) capability group. This group sits within Rolls-Royce Engineering, Technology and Safety - the central home for engineering expertise across the Rolls-Royce group. The E24S group is made up of a diverse team of engineers specializing in traditional and model-based software, system development, electronics, system safety, and system security. The team works collaboratively across design, integration, testing, in-service support and supply chain management to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of control system design, requirements management, testing, data analysis and simulation/modeling tools
  • Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences (e.g., team members, technical experts, and management)
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to worksites to perform job responsibilities
  • Educated to degree level in a STEM subject, including: Systems Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering
  • Receive your degree between December 2025 and August 2026
  • Ability to work in the U.S. with indefinite work authorization; No sponsorships are available for this role

Responsibilities

  • Work on a wide variety of projects to support our diverse customer base
  • Requirements development
  • System design
  • Integration
  • Testing
  • Involved in the design and development of power and propulsion control systems
  • Working within a cross-functional, agile team under the guidance of a Senior Engineer
  • Developing system requirements with internal and external customers
  • Resolving platform integration challenges
  • Creating digital models
  • Verifying models and hardware using real-time simulators
  • Integrating and testing control systems on real engines
