About The Position

About this role: Gartner is currently seeking a Contract Manager (CM) for our Commercial Americas Team. The CM will interface with Gartner’s Sales organization, Finance organization, and operating business units to support the sale and delivery of Gartner Business, Technology and Insight (BTI) and Consulting services to clients in the Americas. The CM will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating Sales contracts (sell-side master, transactional and other related agreements); ensuring compliance with legal requirements, internal policies, and commercial legal standards; supporting Collections matters; and helping the team with special projects. Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, with discipline in project management or similar preferred.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of professional experience at a corporation negotiating contracts, preferably for Sales.
  • Strong contract reading comprehension and interpretation skills.
  • Expertise in contract drafting and negotiation and ability to handle numerous active negotiations in parallel.
  • Client-facing experience negotiating contracts with client legal & procurements departments preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on value of business to Gartner versus complexity of negotiation, while working to month-end and quarter-end sales deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn CLM systems and technology tools

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPP-US, CISSP, etc.) are a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sales teams in reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFP) and other forms of solicitations for Gartner services; preparing, communicating and negotiating exceptions to proposed contract terms using corporate guidelines, where applicable, and assisting ancillary information requests related to contractual and business matters.
  • Review and negotiate Sales Contracts (master agreements and transactional agreements), Purchase Orders, Amendments, NDAs, data protection and/or information security addendums, etc., including on client contract templates, and liaise with internal stakeholders and clients during negotiation process.
  • Manage Gartner’s contracts and contractual relationships within assigned territory, including certain ancillary administrative tasks related to negotiations.
  • Understand and communicate contractual requirements to internal stakeholders, including data capture of negotiated clauses.
  • Become an expert for the Commercial Americas team for certain areas, including Information Security and Privacy.
  • Provide legal and contract interpretation support for customer Collections efforts, in collaboration with Sales and Credit & Collections teams.
  • Answer inquiries from and propose problem resolution for Gartner’s internal partners (e.g., finance team for booking and accounts receivables issues, business unit deal teams).
  • Successfully resolve multiple active contract negotiations in a timely manner
  • Proactively identify and liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate protection of Gartner’s interests, while concentrating on the issues that really matter.
  • Protection of Gartner’s intellectual property and limit Gartner’s liability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Clients and Gartner associates.
  • Perform well under pressure and fulfill tight deadlines.
  • Quickly gain an understanding of Gartner services
  • Operate within Gartner’s internal systems platforms

  • A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 72,000 USD - 100,000 USD.
  • In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
