About The Position
This is a call for resumes for future Contract Specialist opportunities at the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). DIU is a Department of War (DoW) organization dedicated to accelerating the adoption of commercial technology within the military and expanding the national security innovation base. As the Department's link to leading technology companies, DIU focuses on rapid prototyping, fielding, and scaling commercial solutions to enhance operational concepts, increase efficiency, save lives, and reduce taxpayer costs. The organization undertakes various missions to integrate academic and private sector solutions into national security challenges. The Contract Specialist role is a Federal Civilian Position responsible for ensuring contractual baselines comply with Federal law, regulations, policies, and standards. DIU specifically deals with agreements and contracts utilizing Other Transaction Authorities, primarily those authorized by 10 U.S.C section 4022. This role involves developing and implementing contractual direction for all agreements in coordination with Program Management. Example career fields include Contract Management and Contract Administration.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Federal law, regulations, policies, and standards related to contractual baselines
- Expertise in agreements and contracts leveraging Other Transaction Authorities, predominately those authorized by 10 U.S.C section 4022
Responsibilities
- Ensures that contractual baselines meet with Federal law and applicable, regulations, policies, and standards
- In coordination with Program Management, develops and implements contractual direction on all agreements
