About The Position

The Continuous Improvement Intern role is a temporary role for students pursuing an education in continuous improvement / manufacturing engineering. This role will learn while working on real-life projects, also providing administrative support. Location: Cleveland, Ohio This position is 100% on site.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma and be actively enrolled in an accredited University.
  • 1-2 years machinist experience.
  • 1-2 years' experience of mechanical components and machine design.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with all functional departments and handle Continuous Improvement requests
  • Undertakes independent projects as needed in support of department
  • Supports Supervisors, Team Leaders and Associates in the application of the Lean principles
  • Assists in the creation of Work Instructions, Daily Management, 6 Sigma and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Documents
  • Assists in designs and fabricates equipment from Creform Tubing and other materials
  • Assists in the completion of Kaizen Newspaper Action Items
  • Participates in and supports Kaizen Event
  • Participate in manufacturing engineering projects
  • Learn manufacturing processes
  • Assist with changing/updating manufacturing engineering documents
  • Assist with time studies
  • Provides administrative support
  • May interact with other departments
