About The Position

Continuing Education Coordinator - Area Health Education Center Department: 85058 Wake Forest University Health Sciences - Academic Northwest Area Health Education Center Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Reference Job Description Pay Range $35.50 - $53.25 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in a healthcare professional discipline, education or public health and two years' experience in a professional practice, education, staff development, or event/conference planning; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Completion of an ACCME Accreditation Workshop every four years. Certified Continuing Medical Education (CME) professional preferred. Valid applicable state driver's license.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a healthcare professional discipline, education or public health and two years' experience in a professional practice, education, staff development, or event/conference planning; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of an ACCME Accreditation Workshop every four years.
  • Valid applicable state driver's license.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and meeting facilitation skills
  • Strong initiative and proven ability to work independently while handling multiple projects.
  • Ability to balance a complex, rapidly changing schedule of programs, projects, timelines, and deadlines.
  • Highly proficient computer skills.
  • Thorough understanding of all ACCME and AMA guidelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of ACCME accreditation and AMA certification policies, procedures and regulation.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of adult learning, principles in the development of classroom, web-based, and blended educational formats.
  • Proven skills in working effectively to build positive, collaborate relationships with faculty, staff and external partners.
  • Ability to travel by various means of transportation (car, airplane, etc.)

  • Certified Continuing Medical Education (CME) professional preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and maintains effective relationships with a variety of representatives from organizations to assess educational and workforce needs, identify strategies, implement and evaluate continuing education programs and projects.
  • Assesses health educational needs for continuing education program activities and projects.
  • Plans, coordinates, and evaluates continuing education activities as it relates to interdisciplinary continuing education program areas.
  • Maintains timely and appropriate communication with program faculty to assure satisfactory program goal achievement as well as participant and faculty satisfaction.
  • Maintains program records, certification requests, and follows guidelines of accreditation with the appropriate accrediting associations.
  • Collaborates with Continuing Education Coordinators to plan, implement and evaluate interdisciplinary and/or inter-professional continuing education programs.
  • Works with administrative staff and others on designing program brochures, marketing materials, newsletters, reports, PowerPoint presentations, articles, and other communications (print and online).
  • Assists in the development, coordination and distribution of OCME announcements, newsletters and electronic bulletins.
  • Plans program activity budgets and monitors program finances to assure fiscal accountability.
  • Inputs data into appropriate data systems to track and manage continuing education events and activities.
  • Contributes to and assists in the development of institutional CME policies and best practices.
  • Develops and teaches live and online OCME-sponsored classes and forums offered to faculty, staff, administration, fellows, residents, students, and external partnering organizations.
  • Attends monthly CME Committee meetings and prepares detailed minutes to document recommendations and actions of group.
