About The Position

Do you love uncovering insights, shaping strategy, and finding creative ways to tell stories that connect with audiences and drive measurable results? Commercial Recreation Specialists (CRS) is seeking a Content Marketing Strategist who combines curiosity, creativity, and analytical thinking to bring our brand to life across multiple channels. This role plays a key part in shaping and evolving the marketing strategy that supports our growth. In this role, you'll own the creation and delivery of multi-channel content (with an emphasis on written content) that supports our mission to inspire the human spirit through recreation and transform spaces nationwide. Working with internal teams and external partners, you'll turn strategy into engaging, on-brand content and campaigns that raise awareness, generate qualified leads, and inspire action-then dig into the data, ask "why," and use what you learn to continually improve our approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt voice, structure, and messaging for different formats and channels (from short-form ads and social posts to long-form web pages and articles).
  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Willingness to work on-site here in our Verona, WI location
  • A passion for storytelling and an innate curiosity - always asking "What could make this even better?"
  • Comfort writing for and tailoring messages to multiple audiences (e.g., camps, campgrounds, municipalities, attractions) while maintaining a cohesive brand voice.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and content optimization strategies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools (SugarMarket preferred) and CMS platforms (WordPress experience a plus).
  • Proficiency with analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Creative problem-solver with strong project management and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and energized by learning in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Write and develop engaging, high-quality content for a variety of platforms - including digital and print advertising, email campaigns, blogs and articles, videos, sales collateral, web pages, press releases, and social media.
  • Repurpose existing content into multiple formats (e.g., infographics, videos, social posts) to expand reach, engagement, and conversions.
  • Collaborate with external digital agency on keyword strategy and SEO best practices.
  • Implement content workflows that ensure brand consistency, accessibility, and quality.
  • Partner with internal teams and designer to align messaging and develop fresh campaign concepts.
  • Conduct market and competitive audits to identify strategic opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive content calendar aligned with key campaigns and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate content distribution across owned, earned, and paid channels to maximize visibility.
  • Continuously refine content creation and review processes to improve team efficiency.
  • Serve as the in-house expert for marketing automation (SugarMarket), managing workflows, web forms, email campaigns, and lead-nurturing programs.
  • Update and optimize website content, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience and convert visitors into leads.
  • Use analytics tools (GA4) to measure the performance of web content and digital campaigns.
  • Translate data into clear, actionable insights that inform content strategy and improve results.
  • Support team learning by sharing insights about content strategy, automation, and digital best practices.
