Content Marketing Specialist

FOLKLORE EVENT RENTALS INCOceanside, CA
Onsite

About The Position

As the Content Marketing Specialist, you are the Content Engine, responsible for managing and executing content strategy from inception to publication. You are expected to independently process incoming content, understand the brand, and execute across various channels with consistency and taste, utilizing existing systems like gallery tracking spreadsheets, Drive folder structures, naming conventions, and SOPs. This role is not about building systems from scratch but running them with discipline and care, while infusing creative instincts into every piece of content. Folklore is a specialty event rental company in Southern California, known for its distinctive inventory, strong aesthetics, and deep industry relationships. The company produces extraordinary events daily, generating a wealth of content. The challenge for this role is to keep up with, shape, and ensure this content effectively showcases Folklore as original, considered, and unforgettable to its clients and the wider world.

  • 3+ years of experience in brand/product marketing in a creative, elevated environment or event-related industry
  • Experience managing high volumes of visual content — galleries, photography, video assets
  • Strong fluency in Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and LinkedIn, understanding how each platform works and what performs on each
  • Excellent copywriting skills with a proven ability to match and maintain a brand voice
  • Comfortable with in-house photography and basic video production
  • Proficiency in Google Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, & Illustrator

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM/email platforms
  • Drone experience
  • Lives and breathes events and furniture.
  • Has a genuine connection to the events, weddings, or luxury hospitality world — you understand the clientele and the aesthetic
  • Self-directed — you don’t need to be told to post on Monday because it’s Monday
  • Detail-oriented enough to process 40+ galleries a month without dropping the ball on tags, naming conventions, or publishing notes
  • Real photography and video skills — you can capture product and lifestyle content that looks intentional, not accidental
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and isn’t afraid to bring bold ideas to the table.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Social Media (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn) with 3–5 original posts per channel per week, plus reposts and community content, including copy, scheduling, and engagement (responding to comments, tagging peers, amplifying clients and vendors).
  • Own and maintain the Content Calendar, planning for big features and seasonal pushes, proactively following up on galleries, and keeping the team informed.
  • Process approximately 40 galleries per month using existing SOPs, naming conventions, and tracking spreadsheets, including naming events, tagging photographers, coordinators, vendors, and inventory, assigning product tags, publishing notes, and potential future uses.
  • Maintain the master asset library for discoverability, organization, and deployment of images.
  • Write elevated, warm, and non-generic copy that aligns with the Folklore brand voice.
  • Develop original content using in-house photography, drone footage, event captures, and styled shoot assets, editing for consistent brand voice across all channels.
  • Capture and edit content using in-house equipment (DSLR, hover drone, iPhone, lighting), attending styled shoots as needed.
  • Edit and prepare images and video for social, website, email, and ads, with product photography being a core skill.
  • Support newsletter content, blog posts, and campaign assets as directed by the Brand & Marketing Manager.
  • Optimize blog content for SEO.
  • Maintain Canva templates and brand asset consistency across all channels.
