About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager of Marketing, the Content Creation Specialist at the Associated Students of SFSU is responsible for creating, editing, and managing video content across all social media platforms to maintain engagement and spread awareness about AS events and initiatives. This role focuses on content creation, including planning, shooting, and editing video content, while collaborating closely with the AS Productions team and other departments. The Content Creation Specialist supports the Social Media Outreach Coordinator by providing high-quality, engaging content that aligns with the overall social media strategy and organizational goals. The Content Creation Specialist should be able to craft and execute a content strategy that resonates with the SFSU student community. The Content Creation Specialist works closely with the Graphic Designers, Social Media Outreach Coordinators, & Design Coordinator in their role.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled SFSU student with a minimum of 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduates
  • Must have excellent writing, strong communication skills, well-organized and detail-oriented, and grammar and proofreading skills
  • Must be proficient in various social media platforms which include, but are not limited to, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, able to maintain strong working relationships
  • Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner with social media outlets
  • Applicants with active social media accounts are encouraged to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Majors: Digital Marketing, Broadcasting, Advertising, Marketing
  • Familiarity with Canva, Slack & G Suite is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plan, shoot, and edit relevant video content for @as_sfstate TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms to engage SFSU students
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Outreach Coordinator to align content creation with campaign goals and organizational strategies
  • Create engaging video content that follows current trends on Instagram and TikTok
  • Act as secondary resource for the Social Media Outreach Coordinator in the day-to-day messaging, monitoring, and moderation of Associated Students' Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms as needed
  • Stay up to date on trends, platform changes, and industry news that affect current or potential future Associated Students efforts
  • Collaborate with the Design Coordinator and graphic designers to execute special digital engagement features
  • Develop, train, and manage interns for social media research and execution
  • Assist and support AS programs with social media accounts and cross-promote events, giveaways, and resources on the main AS social media platforms
  • Conduct research and brainstorm with the Marketing & Communications team to craft social media campaigns and giveaways
  • Perform other duties as assigned
