About The Position

The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for assisting the Consumer Lending team with all aspects of loan processing, including funding, closing and adhering to all credit union policies and procedures. Support branch consumer loan origination by processing and preparing closing documents for all consumer loan products as needed. Post close/audit all required closed loans for accuracy. Provide exceptional service to both members and Credit Union employees. Look for process improvement and efficiencies in day-to-day working. Manage Team mailbox, prepare and send loan documents, review documents, monitor work queues upload documents to loan files, set up new accounts, post loan payments and process subsequent action and skip a pay request. This job and role require accuracy and efficiency due to volumes. Will also include back up for Indirect and Green lending, and assist with reporting, rates, product specifications and procedures. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Location: Williston, VT or Montpelier, VT

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year up to three years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • A high school degree or equivalent.
  • Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Favorable Background, Credit, Criminal, Bond ability, and Reference Checks required.
  • Ability to analyze loan applications and other documents to determine if they are in good order and have appropriate signatures.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, data and information management, writing and member service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal professional communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, financial systems, and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, work efficiently and provide accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
  • Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private work area with minimal noise.
  • Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to read and carry out various instructions and follow oral instructions.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.
  • Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.

Responsibilities

  • Review loan requests for all products to ensure all documents have been generated and sent for execution via mail, fax or DocuSign.
  • Process, close, and perform all necessary steps to fund all consumer, green and indirect loan products, including Cunexus, with 90 % accuracy, and disburse payment.
  • Verify details, verify funding, verify documentation, look to assuage fraud and look to be a subject matter expert.
  • Troubleshoot with members if they are having issues signing documents.
  • Achieve and maintain personal MRD goals as measured and reported by the member engagement tracking tool.
  • Look for opportunities to advance EastRise agendas and products.
  • Explore and evaluate ways to improve and/or streamline processes.
  • Help advance processors knowledge base and look to resolve/prevent fraud.
  • Provides effective and timely communication with management and staff to meet deadlines.
  • Follows up with staff on loan details, helps with the resolution of issues and fraud and attends refresher training as needed.
  • Monitor Processing emails and other lending communication channels as applicable and respond to communications, assign communications to staff or other departments as warranted, upload documents, make sure outstanding documents have been returned and signatures obtained, communicate with members, dealers, vendors on outstanding conditions, and ensure all liens are perfected.
  • Act as resource for branch staff and closing support for all departments as needed.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, Reg Z. Military Lending Act, Suspicious Activity Act, Patriot Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Patriotic Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control and federal regulations regarding monetary transactions and reporting requirements.
