About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Engineer to support the Veteran community in the San Francisco, California area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals. The General Engineer provides comprehensive engineering planning, design, and project management support for complex construction and maintenance projects. This involves developing technical solutions, overseeing design and construction activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining safety, environmental, and data security standards while delivering efficient, cost-effective outcomes aligned with organizational objectives. The role primarily involves Engineering Subject Matter Expert Consultation, which includes technical support in skilled engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Structural, and Physical Security. Alternatively, Third Party Independent Fire Protection Reviews are performed as per criteria indicated in VA Directive 7712. Travel is required to bring remote assets to site for specific requirements not reasonably addressed remotely.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture
  • 5+ years of Technical Engineer experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Knowledge of healthcare design
  • Understanding of fire codes, building codes, barrier-free codes, systems, components, cleaning and maintenance concepts, ergonomics, and safety criteria
  • Complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes (if selected)
