About The Position
We are seeking a Technical Engineer to support the Veteran community in the San Francisco, California area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals. The General Engineer provides comprehensive engineering planning, design, and project management support for complex construction and maintenance projects. It involves developing technical solutions, overseeing design and construction activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining safety, environmental, and data security standards while delivering efficient, cost-effective outcomes aligned with organizational objectives. Requirements
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture.
- 5+ years of Technical Engineer experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Must have knowledge of healthcare design and understanding of fire codes, building codes, barrier-free codes, systems, components, cleaning and maintenance concepts, ergonomics, and safety criteria.
- Complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes if selected.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform Engineering Subject Matter Expert Consultation.
- Provide technical support in skilled engineering disciplines including Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Physical Security Specialist.
- Perform Third Party Independent Fire Protection Reviews as per criteria indicated in VA Directive 7712.
- Utilize travel to bring remote assets to site to address specific requirements that are not reasonably addressed at a distance.
- Provide comprehensive engineering planning, design, and project management support for complex construction and maintenance projects.
- Develop technical solutions.
