ERM is looking for a Consulting Associate, Civil, Environmental or Geotechnical Engineer to work in our Charleston, WV office . As a Consulting Associate, you’ll play a key role in designing solutions that protect communities, manage resources, and support critical infrastructure projects across the U.S. What Your Impact Is You’ll contribute to projects that include: Civil and site design for renewable energy and power projects (solar, wind, battery storage). Stormwater and water management systems. Environmental remediation and geotechnical exploration. Erosion and sediment control planning. Your work will directly support industries transitioning to cleaner energy and sustainable practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or related engineering field. Or equivalent experience.
  • 0–2 years of experience.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or FE exam registration.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS, or stormwater modeling software.
  • Prior internship or professional experience in civil/environmental engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Support civil and environmental design projects from concept through execution.
  • Prepare site plans, stormwater management plans, erosion control plans, and technical reports.
  • Conduct fieldwork, sampling, and construction monitoring.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planners, scientists, and engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with ERM’s world-class health and safety standards.
