We are seeking a seasoned Consultant, Software Engineer to lead the transformation of our administrative systems as part of the Annuity Modernization initiative. Requirements

  • Proven Experience: 7+ years in software engineering with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or consulting role.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in Policy Administration, Integrations (Batch, API, Streaming). With a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technical solutions with business strategy and long-term vision.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Project Oversight: Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide architectural direction and hands-on leadership in the design, development, and deployment of scalable solutions aligned to our New Business workstream and newly selected ALIP platform.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable technical strategies.
  • Team Mentorship: Guide and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
  • System Modernization: Lead initiatives to modernize legacy admin systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and long-term business goals.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure all solutions adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory standards.
  • Documentation & Standards: Establish and maintain best practices for documentation, coding standards, and integration patterns.
  • AI & Innovation: Champion the exploration and integration of AI technologies, including prompt engineering and Copilot tools, to enhance productivity and system intelligence.
  • Cross-Team Alignment: Facilitate alignment across architecture, development, and business teams to ensure cohesive delivery and shared understanding of objectives.
  • Embed SRE Principles: Implement reliability engineering practices, including observability, proactive monitoring, and automated recovery.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to ensure system health and customer trust.
  • Automation & Efficiency: Build automated deployment pipelines, incident response workflows, and self-healing mechanisms.
