Riverside Medical Group is seeking a skilled and compassionate Consult & Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team at Riverside Mental Health and Recovery in Hampton, Virginia . 🧠 Now Hiring: Labor Pool Consult & Liaison Psychiatrist 📍 Riverside Mental Health & Recovery – Hampton, VA 🕒 12-Hour Shifts | 7-On/7-Off Schedule | Remote/Hybrid Potential This unique labor pool opportunity offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful impact across Riverside’s four acute care hospitals . 🌟 Why Riverside? This role includes: Conducting in-person consults at Riverside Regional Medical Center Providing virtual consults at three additional Riverside hospitals Covering 12-hour shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule Participating in after-hours and weekend call coverage Optional additional compensation for call coverage at Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center during your “on” week

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Commitment to professional standards and compassionate care

Responsibilities

  • Performing psychiatric assessments and developing treatment plans
  • Managing complex psychiatric and medical conditions
  • Prescribing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and attending physicians
  • Coordinating specialty referrals and community transfers
  • Responding to emergent situations and initiating life-saving interventions
  • Educating patients and families on treatment options and care plans
  • Advocating patient rights and diverse needs
  • Documenting findings and maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrating leadership, mentorship, and evidence-based practice
