About Your Role The Construction Manager provides on‑site and program-level oversight of construction activities across the program’s seaport projects. This role ensures that construction is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design documents, contracts, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of construction management experience in marine, port, or heavy civil environments.
  • Strong knowledge of marine construction methods, dredging operations, and structural rehabilitation.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, and night shifts as required by project conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee construction activities for dredging, structural repairs, bulkhead replacements, terminal improvements, and other marine works.
  • Monitor contractor performance, schedule adherence, safety compliance, and quality control.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, change order proposals, and progress reports.
  • Support field inspections, testing, and verification of installed work.
  • Coordinate with VIPA Engineering Division, consultants, and contractors to resolve field issues.
  • Assist in validating construction phasing, logistics, and operational impacts.
  • Support compliance with funding agency requirements and contract administration.
