Job Summary Responsibilities & Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely-related field with 8+ years’ experience working with MEP projects.
  • Ability to understand and interpret contract documents such as specifications, drawings, and shop drawings.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint sites, and Bluebeam Revu.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer License in the state of Virginia.
  • Past experience with Wastewater treatment plants. Preferably in the City of Richmond.
  • Experience managing all phases of construction work on multiple contracts simultaneously as well as project management of complex water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees office services during construction for the client that will be performed from an on-site field office.
  • Provides technical reviews of the project deliverables.
  • Trouble-shoots design issues that arise during construction.
  • Proactively manages Client expectations and assuring client satisfaction related to project.
  • Perform on-site field visits with clients and contractors as needed to resolve field conflicts.
  • Attend on-site weekly construction meetings.
  • Mentoring of junior technical staff as required.
  • Responsible for project quality.
  • Assures QA/QC processes are completed on each project.
  • Lead conversations on client’s behalf with Contractor to resolve conflicts, answer questions, and enforce contract documents.
  • Understand and enforce contract documents.
  • Lead project controls and documentation of project submittals, invoices, RFIS, etc.
  • Respond to RFIs within requirements of contract documents.
  • Work with design team to ensure design intent is achieved during construction.
  • Work with design team ensuring ability to provide adequate constructability (construction sequencing, scheduling, etc.)
