About The Position

Metacomet Construction is seeking a Construction Field Coordinator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, field-focused position responsible for ensuring the quality, readiness, and compliance of unit turnovers and capital improvement projects across our portfolio. You’ll work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and property management teams to ensure all work meets Metacomet’s high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and presentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction project management, site supervision, or quality assurance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of residential renovation processes, NYC construction site rules, punch list management, and finish standards.
  • Ability to perform light handyman or maintenance work to close out punch list efficiently.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a focus on documentation accuracy and client transparency.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and property management.
  • Proficiency with inspection tools, mobile reporting platforms, and plan/design interpretation.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership over site quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Field Inspections: Conduct detailed punch list inspections on unit turns and renovations, verifying that all work meets project specifications, client expectations, and regulatory standards. Verify that work aligns with blueprints and permits, maintain site cleanliness and safety, and manage on-site logistics like key lockboxes.
  • Execute Minor Repairs: Complete small corrective items such as paint touch-ups, cleaning, caulking, and other finish details when subcontractors leave deficiencies, ensuring units are 100% turn-ready.
  • Quality Control & Documentation: Maintain rigorous quality assurance across all active sites, using tools like OpenSpace, Jobber, Excel, Outlook and other reporting software to document conditions, progress, and completion status.
  • Reporting & Communication: Deliver clear, detailed field reports to internal project managers and clients outlining deficiencies, completion percentages, and recommended follow-up actions.
  • Resident Interaction: Professionally interface with residents and tenants in occupied units to communicate project updates when on site, and ensure minimal disruption during active work (e.g., mini-split installations or in-unit maintenance).
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all site activities adhere to DOB, EPA, and Local Law standards while maintaining up-to-date safety and compliance documentation on-site.
