The Construction Engineer role will be on a dynamic team, supporting Team Submarine In-service Program Office. Team Submarine’s Submarine COLUMBIA Class Program Office is responsible for: The construction of COLUMBIA Class submarines, financial and budget management, shipyard support of submarines, vendor support of submarines, logistical support, quality assurance (SUBSAFE), and post-delivery submarine certifications and test programs. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force. In this role, you will: Provide engineering and fluid systems engineering support to the program office. Recommend course of action(s) for unexpected technical and programmatic issues related to RDT&E. Perform technical planning, cost, schedule, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analysis for total systems; analyses performed at concept, design, test, evaluation, and operational phases. Review and develop analytical and technical input needed in order to evaluate documentation and development of briefs to ensure accurate, timely and essential information is proved to decision makers. Prepare Unclassified and Classified briefs for audiences up to and including the Flag level. Attend meetings and specified Program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Set high personal standards for performance and conduct. Demonstrate ability to be a team player; works well with others; contributes positively to work/team environment while continually seeks ways to enhance contribution to the team. Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • U.S Citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Time management skills
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages effectively
  • Ability to be flexible both in relation to job-specification and schedules
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Nice To Haves

  • At least 0-2 years of experience in engineering
  • Experience with Navy acquisition and/or in-service programs
  • Active Duty Experience in the submarine service preferred
  • Recent experience in Team Submarine would be ideal
