About The Position

Position Purpose Key Responsibilities: Instructional Duties: Develop and deliver lesson plans in construction technology and drafting/design that align with NJDOE standards. Teach students how to use CAD software (2D & 3D) for drafting and modeling design concepts. Provide instruction in construction methods, materials, codes, and regulations. Demonstrate proper use of hand and power tools, materials testing, safety practices, and blueprint reading. Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, including proper maintenance of tools and lab equipment. Prepare students for industry certifications and post-secondary education or employment. Technical & Industry Integration: Create detailed mechanical design drawings based on engineering concepts and project specifications. Instruct students on design analysis and modifications for improved functionality and production efficiency. Incorporate real-world industry practices such as design documentation, quality control, and project management. Provide hands-on learning experiences aligned with industry expectations (e.g., OSHA training, building codes, etc.). Assessment & Collaboration: Evaluate student performance through projects, assignments, practical assessments, and written tests. Collaborate with other teachers, counselors, to support student success and career readiness.
