About The Position

The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that the physical condition of the construction project satisfies ownership and management objectives. This role works with the Lead Superintendent & Project Manager coordinating and managing all necessary project resources from start to finish on time and within budget in a highly collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as an assistant superintendent.
  • Proven experience in construction project management, preferably in the field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
  • Must have strong knowledge and experience with all applicable Florida building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and construction management software.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA certification and other relevant certifications/licenses are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive operations to manage all projects in a timely manner while focus on safety and quality.
  • Develop and maintain strong, productive supplier and trade contractor relationships.
  • Communicate company’s quality and performance standards to each trade contractor and supplier.
  • Conduct periodic work inspections to ensure that those standards are met.
  • Serve as a leader to build and develop a strong team to support and sustain profitable growth and provide opportunities for personal and professional growth for our team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to increase profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Manage Subcontractors and Vendors to surpass customer expectations, minimize risk, and lower cost.
  • Read and interpret established scope of work.
  • Plan specifications to ensure complete understanding of all project requirements.
  • Develop project plans, phases and schedules and effectively communicate plan and schedule changes, alternate work assignments, change orders and scope revisions to the project team.
  • Accurately project cost to complete based on intimate job knowledge and experience to eliminate financial surprises, effectively manage the project and provide accurate costing feedback to estimating.
  • Oversee administrative deliverables to minimize risk and allow for timely and accurate decisions.
  • Must have good communication skills, written skills, computer skills and people skills that represent the integrity and philosophy of the Company.
