Louis Ptak Construction seeks a Project Architect to partner with our construction teams and bring high-end residential designs to life! This dynamic role interacts with client design teams, our project management team, and our skilled craftsmen throughout the project lifecycle. You enjoy solving problems wherever they lie and are someone internal stakeholders, clients, and architectural firms love to work with.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's of Architecture required.
  • 5+ years of architectural experience (Type V preferred)
  • Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and 3D rendering.
  • Proficient in construction documentation methods, especially detailing.
  • Experienced in shop drawing review and creation, constructability analysis, and design coordination and submittals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • With a focus on your response speed.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Heavy experience with client, contractor, or consultant coordination.
  • Able to visit job sites and designers/architectural firms throughout the Bay Area when needed.
  • Flexibility to work from our Novato, Burlingame, or your bay area home office.

Nice To Haves

  • Architectural license preferred (CA license if possible).
  • AutoCAD and SketchUp experience highly preferred.
  • Builder background or construction administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with clients and the construction team to create drawings that can be executed in the field.
  • Drafting, supporting, and creating shop drawings for architectural client firms to improve project outcomes.
  • Construction documentation with all the detailed specs that help the construction team execute in the field.
  • Detailed translation of the document that comes from the architect or designers on materials that can be purchased or installed, and built.
  • Working closely with the superintendent on what can actually be built to create the owner's visual dream.
  • Working with the LPC owner and being an active participant in solving problems at the start of projects/early stage, and helping in the preconstruction process.
  • Like being hands-on in the construction process and seeing the design come to life.
  • Being part of the process from start to finish.
  • Being on the job site directing on how the project is going together.
  • Interact with the field crew.
