NVR is looking for an intelligent, highly motivated, positive, results-oriented Intern to join our Architectural Services Department. You will be part of the team responsible for developing the construction documentation and programming used throughout the sales, permitting, and homebuilding processes for Ryan, NV, and Heartland Homes. These brands under the parent company NVR are one of the nation’s top 5 homebuilders. As an Architectural Services Department (ASD) Summer Intern with NVR, your paid internship will allow you to gain experience in a variety of business segments. It will provide the foundation you need to succeed in the homebuilding industry. In fact, many of our summer interns go on to join NVR full time after graduation.

Requirements

Highly driven with leadership skills
Experience with AutoCAD
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with customers and business partners
Currently enrolled in a college degree program, in the area of Architecture or Engineering, and preferably scheduled to graduate within 12 months of the internship
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States, as NVR does not provide visa sponsorships.

Responsibilities

Architectural Design: Immerse yourself in design aspects of the homebuilding industry by learning from our experienced professionals and leaders in Architecture, Fabrication, HVAC, Estimating, Engineering.
Spend time shadowing and assisting our experienced workforce within ASD
Work directly with licensed architects in the design of residential homes.
Participate in the creation of 3D residential architectural models, including structural analysis, floor and roof framing layouts, wall bracing analysis, and truss design.
Assist homebuilding personnel in resolving permitting and inspection issues.
Get a glimpse into manufacturing operations with a tour of NVR’s production plant
Spend time shadowing and assisting an experienced Project Manager in the field
