About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Construction Accounting Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting and administrative functions within our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting or bookkeeping—preferably in the construction industry—and a solid understanding of job costing, accounts payable, and invoicing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience; construction industry experience a plus
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop)
  • Strong understanding of job costing and AIA billing formats is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • You should be proficient in: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Cost Accounting
  • Accounts Payable (AP)

Nice To Haves

  • construction industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Process and track accounts payable and receivable for construction projects
  • Maintain accurate job costing and general ledger entries
  • Assist with payroll processing and certified payroll reporting (if applicable)
  • Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices based on project milestones or schedules
  • Maintain organized records of financial transactions, contracts, and vendor files
  • Assist with monthly financial reports and project cost analysis
  • Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and project managers regarding billing and payments
  • Maintain compliance with lien waivers, insurance certificates, and contract documentation
  • Perform other general administrative and accounting tasks as needed
