About The Position

ARES is seeking a Configuration Data Management Specialist (CDM2) on the MIPSS CMDM contract located at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL to start soon! General Summary: We are seeking a knowledgeable early career Configuration/Data Management (CDM) professional experienced with performing the configuration and data management functions to support CDM activities at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. This position will be part of a multi-person CDM team and will support tasks such as the Secretariat function for the  Control Boards, supporting milestone reviews and providing CDM guidance to Element Office personnel. ICE-Windchill and Microsoft ACCESS will be used to support the change management process and maintain the program baseline. In addition, duties may include assisting in the development of ECB presentations, managing action tracking, managing data deliverables, developing and other tasks in support of managing project level documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. The following may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree requirement: Associates Degree and 2 additional yrs experience -or- High School Diploma and 4 additional yrs experience.
  • 2-5 years applicable Configuration/Data Management experience desired to include management of baselines, operation of project control boards, and/or configuration identification, control, status and accounting, and verification experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, ACCESS & Power Point) is required.
  • Understanding of CDM functions such as change management, utilizing tools for change and action tracking, and development of master lists, agendas and minutes is required.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills are required.
  • Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC is required.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing and updating SharePoint sites is desired.
  • Experience managing receipt and processing of contractor data deliverables is desired.
  • Records management and archival experience is desired.
  • Professional CDM certification such as National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) CDM certification or equivalent is desired.
  • Experience with handling sensitive data is desired.
  • Ability to obtain clearance/access onsite at NASA MSFC required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update tools being used by the Element Office including MS ACCESS, SharePoint and supporting the move to new tools as needed.
  • Utilize ICE-Windchill for managing access to and storing data.
  • Maintain Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) function in an ACCESS database.
  • Support Records Management (RM) processes as part of ongoing archival activities per MSFC RM requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of the CM and DM plans.
  • Support the maintenance of Data Requirement Lists (DRL).
  • Interface with the Prime Contractor with regards to data deliverables and control board activities.
  • Implement data management in the electronic environment which may include establishing file/folder structures, capturing meta data, and creating input forms.
  • Handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), ITAR and other export control or proprietary contractor data following NASA and MSFC requirements and guidelines.
