Configuration and Document Control Manager

Monarch QuantumSan Diego, CA
33d$135,000 - $180,000

About The Position

Join our fast-paced and passionate team as the Manager of Configuration and Quality Systems. As we scale our latest high-technology systems, you will be the guardian of our product integrity and the architect of our documentation lifecycle. This is a dynamic, high-visibility role for a process-oriented leader who thrives in a fluid environment and understands that a world-class product requires world-class traceability. You will define the configuration management roadmap, lead the Quality Management System (QMS), and ensure that every iteration of our hardware is documented, validated, and ready for prime time.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field, or extensive practical experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Semiconductor, or Medical Device).
  • A minimum of 4 years of direct experience in Configuration Management or Quality Leadership, specifically managing PLM/ERP workflows for complex hardware.
  • Expertise in PLM platforms (e.g., Arena, Windchill, Teamcenter) and their integration with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Deep understanding of ASME Y14.35 (Revision of Engineering Drawings) and MIL-STD-973 or similar CM standards.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or maintaining AS9100 or ISO 9001 certifications in a startup or growth-stage environment.
  • Strong quantitative skills for tracking Quality Metrics (Yield, CoPQ, and Audit Findings).
  • Startup Mindset: You are a "Disciplined Diplomat"—possessing the backbone to enforce rigorous standards while remaining flexible enough to support the speed of a developing product line.
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. Employment is contingent upon the applicant being a U.S. person as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Deviations, and Waivers to prevent "version creep."
  • Own the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s QMS (ISO 9001/AS9100).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits and certification bodies.
  • Oversee the "Master Record."
  • Ensure that all CAD data, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and Manufacturing Process Specifications (MPS) are vaulted, revision-controlled, and accurately reflected in the ERP/PLM systems.
  • Partner with NPI Engineering to audit complex BOM structures and implement serialized component tracking to ensure 100% "as-built" vs. "as-designed" accuracy.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) investigations for systemic documentation or process failures, driving a culture of "Right First Time."
  • Act as the critical interface between Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure seamless transitions during rapid hardware iterations.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Fidelity 401(k) plan with 4% employer matching
  • 20 paid time off (PTO) days per year
  • 13 paid company holidays
  • 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
