About The Position

Position Overview: The Concrete Foreman will oversee a team of workers, subcontractors, and equipment, ensuring the timely and safe execution of concrete construction projects. The role requires strong leadership, technical skills, and a solid understanding of concrete practices. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise a team of workers, subcontractors, and equipment. Understand and perform basic line and grade for construction, making necessary adjustments to ensure work is executed correctly. Run and coordinate pre-pour meetings with relevant stakeholders. Oversee and/or perform tasks such as cutting, filling, and proper compaction of dirt and stone. Supervise and assist workers in placing concrete forms, installing reinforcing steel, and performing tasks related to pouring, finishing, and curing concrete. Interpret specification sheets to determine the correct mix of aggregates, cement, and water for concrete. Inspect and ensure the stability of bracing and shoring for concrete forms before and during pouring. Demonstrate knowledge of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards for public sidewalks and accessible routes. Indicate positions for pouring chutes, runways, cranes, or paving machines for concrete placement. Log work hours for team members and equipment daily using the company’s job costing app. Submit purchase receipts via the job costing app daily. Maintain and care for company equipment, including trucks, small tools, and forms. Train and mentor new employees, ensuring proper techniques and safety standards are followed. Ensure the highest quality final product through rigorous quality control during prep, pour, and finish stages.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization may be limited.
  • Ability to read safety regulations, instructions for equipment use and maintenance, and mechanical drawings/layouts.
  • Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, methods, and techniques, with the ability to calculate material quantities for each project.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure work environment, ensuring compliance with government standards and legal regulations.
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the concrete industry.
  • Ability to exert 200 to 500 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Maintain physical stamina, with full use of arms, hands, and legs.
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Good vision with the ability to see details at close range and at a distance (with or without correction) and distinguish colors.
  • Work may be performed outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions.
  • Must wear appropriate protective equipment, including safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
  • Exposure to high noise levels, grease, dust, and other substances commonly associated with construction sites.
  • Work may be conducted in dusty or dirty surroundings.
