About The Position

About Montgomery Place: The premiere senior living community overlooking Lake Michigan and the Museum of Science and Industry, Montgomery Place serves as the cultural center of East Hyde Park. Offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, as well as a 40-bed Skilled Nursing Unit providing Long-term Care and Short-term, sub-acute rehab services. Position Summary: Coordinates resident programs and services with various resident committees. Assures meeting spaces and functional equipment resources. Supports and participates in all aspects of front desk services, creating an environment of cooperation, comfort and service to all residents and team members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of experience as a Concierge or Activities Coordinator
  • Understanding of safety procedures and methods of security
  • Familiarity with operation and some mechanical use of building equipment
  • May require the employee to drive on company business. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and meet organization’s driving requirements.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn company systems, including web based payroll system and work order software
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Detail orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area
  • Experience in Continuing Care Retirement/Life Plan Community

Responsibilities

  • Focus on customer service to residents to meet their needs and support their programs
  • Provide guidance to Independent Living residents and guests for any services requested
  • Coordinate service needs with other departments as appropriate
  • Coordinate and arrange for theater, dining, event experiences (and associated transportation) as requested by the residents activities committee
  • Coordinate and arrange transportation to standing events such as shopping, church, library, etc.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively on the phone and in person
  • Assist in maintenance of resident event information systems, communication systems and logs, as well as Point of Sale (POS) systems used in company business
  • Coordinate with security, transportation, and front desk services, participating as needed to fulfill needs of hospitality in the lobby entrance
  • Assist in the execution & monitoring of training programs for front desk associates
  • Assist in maintaining the process & implementation of Front Desk Standard Operating Procedures & training protocols
  • Post activities and current events on in house channel and MP portal
  • Help with social media posts, taking photos and videos along with capturing and sharing testimonials
  • May support or provide back up for healthcare related activities
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the business with the highest practical standards
  • Participate in and maintain current status on all training and education required by the company
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the staff, residents and business partners
  • Provide feedback to others and openly accept feedback for continuous quality improvement of the entire organization

  • Escalate issues when there is appearance that business standards of quality are not present
  • Comply with all rules and regulations of the organization, including HIPAA and safety
