About The Position

Proof of the Pudding (POP) is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary innovations. This standard is upheld through our extensive off-site catering and special events operations, providing elevated food and beverage experiences at a wide range of private and public events, corporate functions, festivals, and special occasions. Proof of the Pudding is looking for team members who will be responsible for supervising food service operations at a variety of off-site catering events. The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, and comfortable leading teams in fast-paced event environments. Requirements

  • Must have previous catering or food service experience with progressing responsibilities.
  • A people person that, above all else, provides excellent service to guests.
  • Someone that is team-oriented, courteous, able to delegate tasks, and firm in maintaining standards.
  • Flexible availability to work a variety of event days and times, including evenings and weekends.
  • Adherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook and orientation guidelines.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving through event spaces.
  • Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting approximately 30 lbs.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of the job, including policies, practices, and relationships. Possess the expertise and skill levels required of the job and perform with quality.
  • Dependable, reliable and follows through on projects from inception to completion. Willing to put in as much time as necessary to complete tasks. Demonstrate a win-win attitude: “see it, own it, solve it.”
  • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the company’s culture, values and beliefs while maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct.
  • Observe safety and security standards. Use equipment and materials properly. Comply with safety standards and personal protective equipment requirements. Responsibilities

  • Ability to work with new team members event-to-event to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage the personnel in one or multiple food service areas ensuring hot food is hot, cold beverages are cold, and speed of service standards are met.
  • Delegate tasks in an upbeat and courteous manner. Follow up with team members and coach them on-the-fly while understanding there is not a one-size-fits-all method.
  • Perform pre- and post-event responsibilities with team members.
  • Oversee food operations while practicing and abiding by local and state food safety laws.
  • Ensure completion of cleaning & sanitizing checklists, time-temperature logs, inventory counts, cash management, and other operational functions.
  • Performs other related duties as required
