About The Position

PlanITROI is seeking a highly skilled Tier 3 Repair Technician for a temp to perm position, with the potential for full-time conversion after a successful 90 day evaluation period. This senior-level role represents the highest technical tier within the repair department, responsible for expert diagnostics, advanced board level repairs, workflow leadership, and supporting strategic decision-making related to asset recovery. This role is ideal for individuals with deep hardware expertise, strong problem solving ability, and the leadership skills to guide and coach the repair team.

Requirements

  • Expert-level hardware diagnostics with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex or intermittent hardware failures.
  • Ability to perform advanced board level and component level repairs, including power circuitry, system boards, and micro component replacements.
  • Strong proficiency across both the Apple and PC ecosystems, including enterprise grade, high value, and custom configured devices.
  • Ability to oversee and maintain configuration standards, repair quality benchmarks, and technical accuracy across the repair workflow.
  • Skilled in supporting high priority client builds, custom configurations, and specialized hardware setups
  • Ability to evaluate asset condition, repair feasibility, and component-level cost-effectiveness
  • Experience supporting leadership with technical insights that influence value based disposition decisions
  • Strong leadership and mentoring ability to train, coach, and support Tier 1 and Tier 2 repair technicians
  • Ability to help establish repair standards, workflows, and SOP improvements
  • Skilled at monitoring repair yield, diagnosing recurring failure patterns, and recommending process improvements
  • Strong process improvement mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest workflow enhancements
  • Strong documentation discipline to ensure accurate ERP compliance, repair notes, and inventory movement
  • Ability to maintain a high accuracy, high quality output while supporting production throughput goals
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work area
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair workstation
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a team first attitude to support departmental goals

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose complex or intermittent hardware failures
  • Perform advanced board-level or component-level repairs
  • Oversee configuration standards and quality benchmarks
  • Assist management with repair vs. liquidation decision strategy
  • Coach Tier 1 & Tier 2 technicians
  • Help establish repair standards, workflows, and cost-efficiency initiatives
  • Monitor repair yield and recommend process improvements
  • Ensure accurate inventory movement and ERP compliance
  • Support high-priority client builds and custom configurations
